Version 2: Paolo de Venecia Gile (b. 1994, Manila, Philippines) is a contemporary dance artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied dance and choreography at the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2015-2019. He also dedicated a year to nursing studies at Linnaeus University, Sweden 2013-2014. He was a beauty pageant candidate for Mr Gay Sweden 2014 and works part-time as a model for nude drawings. He carries both Swedish and Filipino cultural backgrounds – letting these inform his operations in varying overlaps of art and culture. His artistic interest is drawn towards deliberately tapping into potentials for reflection, entertainment and modes of cohabitation through different articulations of dance and choreography, molding situations by welcoming relations of attentions, inter/extradisciplinary activities and intra-actions.
He has worked within/besides varying formats in the company of Frederic Gies, Eleanor Bauer, Adriano Wilfert Jensen, Pontus Petersson, Sara Gebran, Eisa Jocson, Amalie Bergstein, Jennifer Lacey, Andreas Haglund, Alix Eynaudi, Shai Faran, Rasmus Ölme, Malin Astner, Tiziana Fracchiola, Quim Bigas, P0$$€, Marina Dubia and more. He is currently involved in a project led by Ofelia Jarl Ortega and figuring out the movement(s) of dance and choreography in the locality of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Paolo de Venecia Gile (b. 1994, Philippines; they/them ) is a Swedish-Filipino artist with a degree in dance and choreography from the Danish National School of Performing Arts, after studying nursing at Linné University. Their artistic practice is informed by possible modes of attention across bodies and medias, foreground-ing movement as a key element. When at work, they regard particular attention to linguistic prepositions, and how those might distract/attract sensation, affection and making sense.
They do dance, do body, do text, do voice, do place and massage subjectivity as malleable materials within a range of repetitive but fluid structures of power. A keen interest in the migration, transformation and translation of dance(s) across time, geographies and media.
A member of Dance Cooperative, an artist-run studio and semi-publicly funded platform for intersectional feminist art practices in Copenhagen.
