Paolo de Venecia Gile (b. 1994, Philippines; they/them ) is a Swedish-Filipino artist with a degree in dance and choreography from the Danish National School of Performing Arts, after studying nursing at Linné University. Their artistic practice is informed by possible modes of attention across bodies and medias, foreground-ing movement as a key element. When at work, they regard particular attention to linguistic prepositions, and how those might distract/attract sensation, affection and making sense.
They do dance, do body, do text, do voice, do place and massage subjectivity as malleable materials within a range of repetitive but fluid structures of power. A keen interest in the migration, transformation and translation of dance(s) across time, geographies and media.
